Ingredients of Quick chutney without coconut and tomatoes

  1. You need of Bengal gram 1cup.
  2. Prepare of Green chillies(10-12) nos as per spice tolerance.
  3. You need of Ginger(5gms)or 2tbsp of ginger paste.
  4. Prepare 1/2 tbsp of Hing /asfoetida powder.
  5. You need 1 tbsp of Jeera.
  6. You need of Jaggery : 1cube size or 2 tbsp sugar.
  7. Prepare 1 tbsp of Salt.
  8. You need of Coriander powder :1tbsp (optional).

It goes very well with Idli, Dosa, Chapati. Easy to pack and no spills which suits to take during travelling too. The main thing is this Chutney is tasty without adding any coconut and hence very healthy. Peanut chutney or groundnut chutney is easy to prepare and goes well as an accompaniment with idli, dosa, uthappam, ven pongal and upma.

Quick chutney without coconut and tomatoes step by step

  1. Take a pan and add 3 tbsp of oil.
  2. Saute mustard seeds,Bengal gram,green chillies,ginger, in medium flame until the Bengal gram turns brown.
  3. Add coriander powder, Asfoetida powder,salt,sugar,mix the ingredients well and let the mixture cool for 10 mins.
  4. Take mixer/blender put the mixture water as required to grind it into a fine paste.
  5. For some final touch heat 2tbsp of oil and add mustard seeds.
  6. Yummy 😋 chutney is ready!!! Dilute the chutney with water if required.

It needs very less ingredients and can be made in a jiffy. I have already posted peanut chutney with coconut, this is a different version with roasted garlic and onion. Pudina Chutney(Mint Chutney) is a very flavourful chutney recipe made with mint leaves. Amma makes another version with coconut which I am planning to post soon. This mint chutney is a no coconut version with onion and tomato.
